Forget about Governors, lockdowns and stolen freedoms – just protect those you love the most during the holidays.
The rest of my husband’s family has come down with the virus. It travels fast and when it kills it’s swift. We didn’t get to hold their hands or be by their sides. They died alone, probably scared and it breaks all of our hearts. I know the survival rate but when your people fall outside of that number the guilt and pain is 100% #covid.”

Tudor Dixon Steel Industry
Tudor Dixon’s late father, Vaughn Makary, purchased the West Michigan Steel foundry in Muskegon in a bankruptcy sale and renamed it Michigan Steel in 2002, reports cite. Dixon worked at her father’s steel foundry until 2009, when she decided to leave to start a family with her husband, Aaron. She began her career in the customer service department and progressed to the human resources department and other executive positions.
Dixon has emphasized her seven years as an executive at Michigan Steel Inc. as proof that she is ready for “tough battles” as governor. She has, however, distanced herself from her father’s firm’s eventual demise, which occurred three years after she left the company after becoming pregnant with her first child.
Following her victory in the Republican primary in August, the Republican gubernatorial candidate promoted her leadership at the foundry as part of her campaign, citing the difficulty of “running and growing” the company as a woman.
According to court records reviewed by Bridge Michigan, the Muskegon foundry struggled with cash flow during Dixon’s tenure there, long before Michigan Steel laid off its entire workforce — which numbered nearly 300 people — and liquidated the company.
“I was really helping him (her dad) make the big decisions, but went from dealing with the small things on the customer service side to everything that had to do with our largest deals with customers across the globe,” says Dixon earlier this year.
