Overview of the situation

The posts of the former president Donald Trump now have to wait for six hours before reposting on any other platform

President Trump is generally obligated to make any social media post on TruthSocial and may not make the same post on another social media site for 6 hours. Thereafter, he is free to post on any site to which he has access. Thus, TMTG has limited time to benefit from his posts and followers may not find it compelling to use TruthSocial to read his posts that quickly.

Donald Trump will have to wait for six hours before reposting his messages from Truth Social on other platforms. The platform was launched with the objective of giving the big tech companies a run for their money, after the former U.S. president was kicked off of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for allegedly provoking and glorifying violence during the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots. “President Trump is generally obligated to make any social media post on Truth Social and may not make the same post on another social media site for 6 hours,” Digital World Acquisition Corp said.

Former US President Donald Trump had to wait six hours before reposting his message from the social media platform Truth Social on another platform. Though Trump has said that he will never return to Twitter. He still chose to use Truth Social. He has even increased his message on the new platform to his millions of followers after a slow start. Digital World Acquisition Group, a shell company that is working to take Trump Media & Technology and its subsidiary Truth Social public, said that the six-hour policy gives the app “limited time to benefit from his posts and followers may not find it compelling to use TruthSocial to read his posts that quickly.”

The exception to the six-hour posting rule

The filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said that Trump can publish the same content on other platforms, but he must wait at least six hours after posting it on Truth Social. The policy does not apply to “political messaging,” including fundraisers and messages on voting information, meaning any messaging around a potential 2024 presidential run would not be constrained to the six-hour time policy.
