Can Ron Desantis win the 2024 presidential election? -Check approval rating
Even if former President Trump hints at a 2024 White House run, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has emerged as a strong contender for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination. Both DeSantis and Trump have not said they intend to run for president in the future. There is a consensus that both senior Republicans are seriously contemplating the option. 
There have been rumors that they don’t get along, but both have denied the rumors.
What do the people think- Approval Rating
In recent surveys, both candidates have a shot at the nomination. Surveys suggest that DeSantis is the clear front-runner if Trump runs for re-election, while national polls show that Trump is still in the lead by double-digits. A straw poll was conducted among the participants of the Western Conservative Summit, which took place on Saturday in Colorado. For the second year in a row, DeSantis beat Trump as the conference’s top pick.
In a poll, Floridians backed Gov. Rick Scott (71.01%). Trump finished second place with 67.68 percent of the vote, just ahead of Hillary Clinton. Because participants could select more than one option in the acceptance voting procedure, the survey results were greater than 100%.

A recent poll of Nevadans found that DeSantis was more popular than Trump. When asked to rank politicians like Trump, DeSantis, President Joe Biden, and Vice President-designate Kamala Harris on a scale ranging from zero to one hundred, respondents were instructed by the University of Nevada-Reno. Trump earned a 42, while DeSantis received a 48.
To be sure, the governor of Florida was behind Trump among conservative voters, obtaining a score of 69 to Trump’s 73, but this was not the case among independents. In April 2022, the Harvard/Harris Poll found that 35% of those asked preferred DeSantis, while Pence came in at # 2, and the rest of the field had favor in the low single digits, just like in this Echelon Insights poll. 
Is Desantis ahead of Trump?
In the Echelon survey, none of the possible candidates for the general election in 2024 were asked about. However, the average favorability of Governor DeSantis was found to be -2 among all registered voters. President Joe Biden, Trump, and other lawmakers have fallen further into the negative net favorability category.
Even Elon Musk and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson ranked higher than the governor based on the net score in the poll. On the other hand, DeSantis’ favorable rating was the lowest candidate in this poll. Only 32% of voters think favorably of the governor, while 34% think negatively, and 34% haven’t concluded on him yet. This survey, done between April 18 and April 20, has a margin of error of 3.7 percentage points.

While DeSantis is up for re-election later this year, he is polling ahead of Trump in the race for the Republican nomination; without Trump, he has a significant advantage in the race. Liberal institutions have laughed at and turned their backs on the people, and both men say they speak for their anger.
