Former president Donald Trump revealed that he would be making a huge announcement next week at his private estate, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.
At a rally held for Republican U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance for the upcoming midterm elections, the former president said to the crowd that he will be making the announcement on 15th of November.
“I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida,” said the former president, and refused to give any more details regarding the announcement, reasoning that did not wish to “detract from tomorrow’s very important, even critical election.”
Former president Donald Trump was in Ohio to campaign for the Republican senate hopeful JD Vance, who according to polls, is struggling against his Democratic opponent, Tim Ryan, in the race that holds the power to decide control of the Senate.
Mr. Trump endorsed the Hillbilly Elegy author earlier this year, expressing utmost confidence in Vance, saying, “He’s strong on the Border, tough on Crime, understands how to use Taxes and Tariffs to hold China accountable, will fight to break up Big Tech, and has been a warrior on the Rigged and Stolen Presidential Election.”
At the Monday rally, the ex-president slammed Joe Biden, claiming that the 79 year old US president has a cognitive impairment. Mr. Trump also attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, calling her an “animal” for her decision to impeach the former president twice, for no apparent reason.
Donald Trump’s Big Announcement Next Week: Is Trump Proposing Another White House Bid?
Former President Donald Trump’s upcoming “big announcement” has left many people speculating that the ex-president might actually be hinting at another go at the White House.
According to reports by a major news outlet on Monday, Mr. Trump had privately thought about the idea of announcing another 2024 White House bid during the Ohio rally, but other GOP leaders encouraged him to hold off the announcement until after the midterms, fearing that it could boost Democratic chances and diminish the Republicans’ slim advantage in the midterm elections.
This isn’t the first time that the former President has teased at another Presidential run. Mr. Trump has been dropping hints of the prospect of another presidential run since spring last year, telling his supporters that they would be “very happy” or “so happy” when he finally reveals his decision. Some speculate that Mr. Trump is steadily building interest without making a legal announcement that would trigger endless press conferences typically associated with announcing a formal candidacy.
Recently, at a rally held in Texas two weeks ago, Mr. Trump said, “I will probably have to do it again,” while at another rally in Iowa, he said that he would “very, very, very probably do it again,” hinting at another White House bid.
The ex-president’s son, Eric Trump has also hinted at another Presidential run by his father earlier this year when the infamous FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago took place.
Following the raid, deemed as “political persecution” and “banana republic antics”, Eric Trump said that he hoped that the former president “goes out and beats these (the Democrats) again.”
“Honestly, I hope – and I’m saying this for the first time – I hope he goes out and beats these guys again because honestly, this country can’t survive this nonsense. It can’t,” he said.
