The White House said that the Former president must be ‘universally condemned’ for his words. Biden reprimanded Trump after the former president Donald Trump said that the US constitution should be brought to an end over his false assertions that the presidential election of 2020 was stolen.
Andrew Bates, a White House spokesperson, said on Saturday, “Attacking the constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation and should be universally condemned.”
Bates said the constitution was a “sacrosanct document,” saying, “You cannot only love America when you win.”
Trump couldn’t win against Joe Biden in 2020 by more than 7 million votes and by 306-232 in the electorate, a result he said was a landslide when it was in his approval in 2016 against Hillary Clinton.
Trump kept on asserting that Biden’s victory in 2020 was electoral fraud, a lie that fired a deadly attack on the US Capitol his defenders on 6th January 2021. Nine people were killed in the riot, including suicides by law enforcement officers. More than 950 people have been charged in the riot.
This week, two members of the far-right promise keepers militia were condemned for the heinous conspiracy. Other far-right candidates, which is Pro-Trump, faced the same charges.
Trump was restricted from Facebook and Twitter after the Capitol riot. He didn’t return to Twitter; instead, Tesla and Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk allowed him to do as he wished. Donald Trump used his own social media platform named Truth Social on Saturday and wrote, “A massive fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the constitution.”
Trump also said an “unprecedented fraud requires an unprecedented cure.”
He was writing after Elon Musk claimed that he would show that Twitter was culpable of “free speech suppression” by liberating proof of how the platform answered requests from campaigns in the presidential election of 2020.
Trump is the only one who has announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in the year 2024 but also faced a little condemnation from Republicans and Republican-supporting platforms since midterm elections in which most of his endorsed nominees were defeated, including those who refused to run for governor and key election roles in battleground states.
Republicans couldn’t gain control over the House with a high majority but by a lower majority and couldn’t get successful in overtaking the Senate.
Biden reprimanded Trump, but Donald Trump also condemned the Senate minority leader on Saturday, Mitch McConnell, and “all of the weak Republicans who couldn’t get the presidential election of 2020 approved and out of the way fast enough”.
There were 147 Republicans in Congress who raised questions about the results in key states after the Capitol attack.
Senior Republicans have currently condemned Donald Trump, especially over his decision to have dinner at his home in Florida with the well-known white supremacist and antisemitic Nick Fuentes. However, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has increased in votes of possible 2024 competitors; few in the party have broken doubtlessly with Donald Trump and those who have been forced out.
A Democratic US senator from Hawaii named Brain Schatz said on Saturday by pointing to such hard political truth, saying, “Trump just called for the suspension of the constitution, and it is the final straw for zero Republicans, especially the ones who call themselves ‘constitutional conservatives.”
Hasan also indicated to Trump’s dinner at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, with Nick Fuentes, saying that in two weeks, the former president had “said or done things that would be lifelong scandals for other politicians … he truly knows how to flood the zone”.
Trump critics on the political right criticized the statement.
George W Bush’s UN ambassador and Trump’s third national security counselor, John Bolton, said, “No American conservative can agree with Donald Trump’s call to suspend the constitution because of the results of the 2020 election. And all real conservatives must oppose his 2024 campaign for president.”
