Microsoft opens a new “Green” region in Sweden

This concerns three cities: Gävle, Sandviken and Staffanstorp. The company claims that it is “ the first hyperscale cloud region to use the Vattenfall solution 24 / 7 in a commercial product to provide 100% renewable energy ”. The companies have been collaborating on this project for several years.
This region also has a “ zero waste certification ”and offers a circular economy center in order to“ extend the life cycle of servers through reuse ”.
As a reminder, Microsoft is committed to using 100% renewable energy in its buildings and centers data from here 2025, globally.
