Wireless Customer is Not Available: Steps to Fix Error
What does the ‘wireless customer is not available’ error mean?
The message “The wireless customer you are calling is not available” means that the person you are trying to call, i.e. the receiver of the wireless call is not currently available to respond to the call ring. This can mean that the perso on the other end has issues with their mobile service or a software bug on your phone that resulted in the message not going through.
Why does this happen?
Different reasons and factors may affect your calling services and the availability of a wireless customer. Such factors may include a poor connection or mobile coverage, the phone operator being off, or the number being blocked. In most cases, if the connection and range at your side are excellent, the problem is on the receiver’s side. However, in worst-case scenarios, the message sender can be the problem.
How to fix the wireless customer is not available error
If you’re not able to get through to the person you are trying to speak to via call, you can try the alternative method and message them. It could turn out that their battery just died.
Use iMessage if you are an Apple user or send a text to them through any other social media channels that you might be connected with the through. Most social media apps like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook allow you to message them on their phone, so try getting through them with these services. You can also try calling them using the internet with services like Messenger from Facebook or Google Voice.
Also, maybe the person you are trying to reach does not have coverage in the area they’re in. In such cases, there’s nothing you can do except leaving a message and wait for the other person to switch on their phone or wait for them to be in a place that has proper coverage.
If you find out that their phone is not switched off or the above mentioned scenarios, here’s what you can do to fix the wireless customer is not available error:
Check if you might have accidentally blocked them or vice versa:
Your phone service provider can’t tell you if the recipient has blocked your number, so the best thing you can do is to ask the recipient directly. Use the avenues that I had talked about to get through to the recipient. Ask them if they have blocked you; if they accidentally did it, they can unblock you. Alternatively, you can check if you’ve blocked the number you’ve tried to dial and unblock them if they were.
To unblock someone on iOS:
- Open Contacts app on your phone. You can also do this using the Phone app.
- Scroll down or use the search function to find the contact to unblock.
- Open the contact and scroll down.
- You will be able to see an option that says ‘Unblock this Caller.’Select it and confirm the unblocking.
To unblock someone on Android:
- Open the Phone app.
- Select More.
- Go to Settings > Blocked numbers.
- Select the number you want to unblock and then tap Clear, then Unblock.
After unblocking the number or getting your number unblocked, try calling the recipient again to see if the message plays again.
Remove your SIM card and try re-inserting it
If you have tried the methods mentioned above and the issue is still not resolved, in some cases, the SIM card may be the thing that is causing the problem. A SIM card that is facing issues might fail to let your phone connect to the available mobile networks in order to make a call.
If that’s the case, you can try taking out your SIM card and re-inserting it. Try making a call again after doing this and see if it eliminates the issue.
Restart your phone:
Sometimes just restarting your device works like magic for annoying issues like this. Restart your phone and check if the message plays again.
If you have tried all the methods mentioned above and you still can’t make calls from your phone, you will need to contact your service provider to resolve the issue. Chances are, their could be a service outage at their end.
