The office of Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis issued a sharp response to a Democratic Sheriff on Tuesday who launched an investigation into the flights that Governor DeSantis chartered to send Venezuelan immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard recently.
“Immigrants have been more than willing to leave Bexar County”- DeSantis’ office responds to Democrat Sheriff’s probe
During a press conference on Monday, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar announced that he would launch an investigation into the Martha’s Vineyard migrant flight controversy. According to the Sheriff, the whole episode made him quite furious as already troubled human beings were being exploited further for political posturing.
The Bexar County Sheriff said that he was “bothered” by the flights “and so we are absolutely opening up an investigation into this.”
In response to the investigation, a spokesperson named Taryn Fenske from Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ office issued a statement that indicated that the immigrants were “more than willing” to leave Bexar County for “greener pastures” that would offer better resources and quality of life to the immigrants.
“Florida gave them an opportunity to seek greener pastures in a sanctuary jurisdiction that offered greater resources for them, as we expected,” said the spokesperson in his statement. “Unless the MA national guard has abandoned these individuals, they have been provided accommodations, sustenance, clothing and more options to succeed following their unfair enticement into the United States, unlike the 53 immigrants who died in a truck found abandoned in Bexar County this June.”
“If these activists spent even a fraction of this time and effort at the border, perhaps some accountability would be brought to the Biden administration’s reckless border policies that entice illegal immigrants to make dangerous and often lethal journeys.”- Fenske added further.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at a separate press conference said that the illegal immigrants were provided with a release form to sign along with a map of Martha’s Vineyard. “So it was obvious that that’s where they were going and they gave that to them,” stated the Florida Governor.
Democrat Sheriff says migrants were lured to board the flight under false pretence
Democrat Sheriff Javier Salazar claimed that the unannounced flight carrying at least 48 illegal migrants that landed on the Massachusetts island in the US, were lured under false pretence by a group to board the flight in exchange for work in Boston.
Texas authorities have launched an investigation into the entire incident. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed on Monday that an investigation was underway to find the individuals who lured the migrants to board the flight under false pretence. According to the sheriff’s press conference on Monday, the group was stationed in a hotel for two days before being placed on a flight that landed in Martha’s Vineyard after stopping in Florida.
While there were no confirmed suspects at the time, the Bexar County sheriff stated that he had a list of people who might have been interested in the entire incident. During Monday’s press conference, Salazar, however, refused to name the suspects, claiming that everyone knew who they were.
