There was a conflict in Arizona on Friday after a man arrived at a rally of Kari Lake’s followers with a national flag and refused to leave. Around 30 Kari’s supporters gathered in Phoenix, outside the Arizona State Capitol, looking for a rerun of the state’s gubernatorial election.
Kari Lake is a Republican and a Trump-supported candidate who lost the midterm elections to her Democratic opponent Katie Hobbs by 49.7 percent of the vote to 50.3 percent.
Kari Lake denied acknowledging what she asserts was a “botched” election and has filed many lawsuits to reverse the result. Kari’s supporters organized a protest outside the state capitol at 9 a.m. MST and asserted that “hundreds of patriot groups” would join to “protest the uncertifiable results.”
Ron Filipkowski posted a video on Twitter that shows not more than 50 people appeared, including one man waving a large federal battle standard. It flickered anger from other rally participants, who blamed the man for looking to subvert their event and asked him to leave.
One man shouted: “It’s white power b*******, get out of here!”
A woman told the man to “go and take your racist a** flag with you.”
The federal flag-waver who denied leave requesting that he was “part of the movement” said: “Demographics is destiny–there’s a reason the border needs to be closed.”
At the same point, another man was carrying the U.S. and Arizona flags and a poster supporting Lake, went straight to the flag-waver and requested him to unhand the Confederate poster.
He said: “Please, I’m begging you, please take off this flag.” The flag-waver responded: “No, I’m not going to be a second-class participant in this.”
Kari submitted a case demanding the release of Maricopa County election records, proclaiming people across Arizona “may not have been able to vote,” with “instances of misprinted ballots, the commingling of counted and uncounted ballots, and long lines discouraging people from voting”
She mentioned examples.
Kari’s attempts to reverse the Arizona gubernatorial result note former President Donald Trump’s refusal to admit the presidential election result of 2020, which he claimed was “rigged” in favor of Joe Biden. Donald Trump launched numerous failed legal challenges to overturn the results but didn’t succeed in it.
Hundreds of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on 6th January 2021 in an attempt to stop the election outcomes from being verified by Congress. One of Trump’s supporters, Ashil Babbitt, was shot dead by the law administration during the violence, whereas protestors injured many officers.
A 42-year-old Iraq War veteran named Brain Sicknick and a capitol cop died of natural causes after the capitol attack as the protestors sprinkled a chemical irritant into his eyes and face.
