California Governor Gavin Newsom said that he won’t challenge current president Joe Biden in the presidential election of 2024. He reportedly told POTUS himself that he is “all in” on Joe Biden’s re-election.
In an interview with Politico, Newsom was seen cramming down speculation that he might run for the Democratic nomination after what the platform said was “considerable” irritation from the White House at hearsay he was plotting a run to oust Joe Biden.
Gavin said, “I’ve told everyone in the White House, from the chief of staff to the first lady,” saying his word is “I’m all in, count me in” on Joe Biden’s re-election bid.
Newsom’s 2024 bid has aroused in the current months growing concerns from Democrats about Joe Biden’s health, age, and low approval ratings. Many Democrats fear how Joe Biden would fare in the presidential race of 2024 against former president Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The Democrats have started looking for a potential replacement, and Gavin Newsom’s name has been given as a possible option.
The concerns have likely been deprived after a more than a stronger performance by Democrats in the November midterm elections, where Democrats’ fears of a Republican “red wave” didn’t come to fulfillment. Democrats successfully managed to gain control of the Senate, whereas the Republicans lost control of the House as they could gain a narrow majority. It depicts that Biden’s position appears stronger than it did in the summer.
In a post-election press conference, Biden said he was thinking of running for re-election and would make his final Verdict by early next year.
Biden said, “I think everybody wants me to run, but we’re going to have discussions about it. “I hope Jill and I get a little time to sneak away for a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and my guess is it will be early next year when we make that judgment.”
Gavin Newsom also incited rumors that he might run for the presidential election by continuously launching public attacks on Ron DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. But the governor, who comfortably won re-election in deep-blue California, is said to have moved outside his motorcade near a Sacramento hotel on the election night and called Biden to convey his support personally for his re-election bid.
Newsom said, “I’m all in; put me in, coach. We have your back.”
According to Politico, Gavin Newsom didn’t look for the outlet’s reporter to hear the talk, but he accidentally was leaving the same hotel when he was on the call.
The outlet reported that Trump’s comeback has become the top preference for the Republican Party and explains why Joe Biden has been given a lot of freedom by his Party during a difficult 2022. Currently, one of his biggest potential primary dangers is on record with his full support for Biden 2024, specifically mentioning his record in beating former president Donald Trump.
Newsom said, “He not only beat Trump once, I think he can beat him again. I hope he runs, I’ll enthusiastically support him.”
