According to Equinix, it is a “ major player in data centers and connectivity solutions in West Africa, present in Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast ”. The amount of the transaction is 320 millions of dollars.
The American company adds that it is “ the first step in Equinix’s long-term strategy to become an independent and leading player in digital infrastructure in Africa ”.
This takeover should be finalized in the first quarter 2022, subject of course to obtaining the necessary regulatory authorizations.
