Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, won the primary election last month, which made him a possible future competitor for his party’s presidential choice of 2024. He is clustering with some of his primary contributors this month as he prepares his plan chart for the future.
Invitations were sent on Sunday for an “intimate dinner” in Miami with Ron DeSantis and his wife, two people said who were well-known with the facts, and they also opened up the condition of invisibility to sneak a private event. The Invitations were directed to the governor’s “strongest supporters.” One person said that further gatherings might be conducted in other parts of the state.
However, a spokeswoman for the DeSantis campaign denied to comment on this. The dinner was Ron DeSantis’ first well-known gathering with contributors since the midterm elections took place. Many said that the dinner was not conducted to open up about the 2024 presidential election race; rather, it was conducted to celebrate the victory made by DeSantis in which he got the largest margin by a Republican gubernatorial nominee in modern history.
In his victory speech last month Ron DeSantis strongly mentioned that road would lead him to the national stage, donating Florida as an example for the remainder of the country.
He further said, “The survival of the American experiment requires a revival of true American principles. Florida has proved that it can be done. We offer a ray of hope that better days still lie ahead.”
Ron has more than $70 million in his collection for the reelection campaign that he might use in the future for the Presidential election of 2024. He proved himself as the most presiding contributor this year, bringing in more than $200 million between a campaign committee and a lineup PAC. The PAC was capable of accepting unlimited personal and corporate donations.
Robert Bigelow is one of his important and top contributors, the owner of Budget Suites of America, who gave $10 million, and the owner and chief executive of the hedge Citadel Ken Griffin gave $5 million.
DeSantis was asked about the comments after the midterm elections. He said he would “just tell people to check out the scoreboard last Tuesday night.”
He further added, “One of the things that I’ve learned in this job, when you’re leading, when you are getting things done, yeah, you take incoming fire. That’s just the nature of it.”
Those who had a talk with DeSantis about the presidential election of 2024 contest say that he has not thought or planned for a possible campaign. One of the friends speculated that any declaration would come after Florida’s legislative session will end in May.
Other possible 2024 GOP contenders have also been pursuing contributors as they are getting ready to challenge former president Donald Trump.
Earlier this year, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngking held a “Red Vest Retreat” that people included to The Washington Post as a chance to sound out his presidential expectations. Nikki Haley, who was a former ambassador of the U.N, has pointed out that she will think about a campaign over the holidays. She was also seen at a Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Las Vegas last month with former vice president Mike Pence, former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, and other possible competitors in an unofficial primary start. Ron DeSantis also opened up about cattle calls and got a rock-star reception.
