According to a breakdown of sponsorship packages, the inauguration ceremony of newly re-elected Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to last two days and will provide VIP access to donors who contribute between $50,000 and $1 million.
Five donors who contribute $1 million to the Republican Party of Florida will be recognized as “inaugural chair” sponsors, and will also receive tickets to a candlelight dinner the night before the inauguration, access to VIP seating at the inauguration ceremony held on the steps of the Old Capitol, tickets to the inaugural ball, a toast to First Lady Casey DeSantis‘ campaign group, and a photo opportunity with the governor.
Other packages, ranging in price from $500,000 to $25,000, provide access to many of the same events, but donors will not receive as many tickets.
Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was re-elected to a second term on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Charlie Crist. His victory solidifies his position as a prominent Republican figure with Presidential ambitions. DeSantis defeated Democratic challenger Charlie Crist with 59.5 percent of the vote, an increase of less than one percentage point from his 2018 victory.
Governor DeSantis’ victory confirms that the state of Florida, long regarded as a swing state, is now firmly in Republican hands. In Florida, no Democrat has been elected governor in the last 28 years.
Ron DeSantis has emerged as former President Donald Trump’s most powerful and influential rival in Republican circles, governing his state with rightwing policies popular with the party’s Trumpist base.
DeSantis’ next term begins on January 3, and governors in Florida are traditionally sworn in at noon on that day. The inauguration will allow the Florida Governor to demonstrate his fundraising abilities as well as his position as the leading Republican alternative to former President Donald Trump, who declared his candidacy last month at a ceremony in Mar-a-Lago.
